Mia Padula

Public Relations & Sports Studies and Legal Studies

Hi, I’m Mia Padula, a Public Relations major with minors in Legal Studies and Sports Studies at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Throughout my time at Roger Williams, I’ve built hands-on leadership experience through roles in the Inter-Class Council, as a Peer Mentor, in Student Accessibility Services, and as an Orientation Advisor. These opportunities have strengthened my ability to lead, collaborate, and support others in a team environment.

Beyond the classroom and internships, I’m especially inspired by advancing opportunities for women in sports. I’ve also discovered a love for coaching, which reflects my drive to encourage and support people of all ages.

Excel

Excel

In my Digital Communication class, I used several Excel techniques to analyze and present data effectively. The three techniques that stand out to me are: XLookup, pivot tables, and graphs and charts.

I used XLookup in Excel to efficiently search for and retrieve specific data from different tables and worksheets. This function allowed me to match values accurately without manually searching through large data sets, which saved time and reduced errors. Using XLookup helped keep my data organized and ensured consistency when updating or analyzing information.

Pivot tables were used to quickly summarize and analyze large amounts of data. By organizing data into categories, I was able to compare values, identify trends, and extract meaningful insights that would have been difficult to see in raw data. Pivot tables made it easy to adjust and filter information, allowing me to view the data from multiple perspectives.

I used graphs and charts to visually communicate the data in a clear and engaging way. These visuals helped highlight key trends, comparisons, and patterns that might not be obvious in a table alone. By turning data into visual representations, I was able to present my findings more effectively and make the information easier for others to understand.

Internship Experience

I recently completed an internship at the International Tennis Hall of Fame as a Tournament Intern, where I worked directly with ticket holders, managed ticket sales, created credentials, recruited volunteers, and supported tournament and Induction Celebration operations. This experience deepened my passion for pursuing a career in sports, particularly in public relations, marketing, broadcasting, and sports agency.
